SafeSpot no longer utilizes volunteers. Prospective operators fill out the form below to be placed on our notification list. We hire in cohorts once per quarter. We will notify those on our list of an upcoming cohort a week in advance, the job posting is then shared, and you have 72 hours to apply. If you miss the window, you will have to wait until the next cohort. Prospective operators go through a 4 phase interview process. After completing the interview and onboarding to the team, prospective operators receive 12 hours of didactic training, 1 hour of prep with a lead trainer, and must pass at least 2 roleplay scenarios (15 hours paid training total).

Operators are paid per call - one hour of pay (plus holiday, weekend, evening and night differentials) per call, and calls last generally no longer than 35 minutes. We have minimum quarterly call requirements to stay active on the team. We also have a mandatory monthly meeting at night on the first Monday of every month.

This is a remote, per-diem job that still has intense requirements - please do not apply if you do not have the time to devote or understand the gravity of the responsibility you have to keep our callers safe.
